Amansala Summer Intensive

This 5-day immersion series was designed for students who want the depth of a teacher training but without the time commitment that one usually entails. Combining the educational and experiential elements that dedicated practitioners of yoga adore, each session will build upon its predecessor to instill an inner sense of harmony, vitality, clarity, and contentment. Amansala is an ideal setting for this type of work because its unparalleled beauty naturally inspires you to open up and settle in.

The structure of the series will follow the outline that I have been using in both teacher training programs and retreats for years, meaning that we will journey through the body from the feet to the head in order to reorganize ourselves on the physical level. From strong standing poses to deep hip openers, from core strengthening poses to deep abdominal twists, from shoulder openers to uplifting backbends, and from arm balances and inversions to the sublime coolness of forward bends, we will savor the integration and lightness of being that a well-rounded yoga practice so inimitably creates. Meanwhile on the subtle level, we will progress through a breathing program that is intended to steady the mind. From reclined ujjayi and viloma pranayama to seated practices, such as kapalabhati and nadi shodhana, we will rediscover the equanimity that accompanies free, fluid breathing. And finally, the extended practice time will allow us the contemplative space for seated meditation.

You certainly don’t need to have completed a teacher training to participate in this immersion; however, teachers who are looking for continuing education credits will be eligible to receive 16 hours through Yoga Alliance.
